Team and Culture Description:

Brazil Software Services is a group dedicated to design and create state of the art software products to empower Motorola mobile device. The team objective is to develop best-­in-­class software systems that make the end users experiences delightful and solid. In order to do so, the team in Brazil collaborates with all other software groups on key software tasks as Android Applications, Cloud Development, Experiences development, Quality assurance initiatives, enhancement of development techniques and tools. This position is based in Jaguariuna­-SP.

- Be a core team member to build out the SAAS / Web application portfolio for mobile cloud platforms and services.

- Drive multiple form factor programming models for both back-­end programming and front-­end web development that can work seamless on smart phones, tablets, lap tops etc.

- Bring capabilities of platform services in the cloud through hosted web applications to a broad customer base that spans external and internal customers.

- Take lead on medium to large size SAAS projects, understand the needs of customers, internal clients, and develop tailored web solutions in a fast paced environment.

- Be one of the first development groups in the world to develop deep expertise of Google Cloud Platforms.

- Experiments with Google tools and contribute back to the open source community in the forms of tools / add­-on’s that can make application programming for multiple form factors more productive and efficient.

- Activities are global in nature with daily collaboration with teams around the world.

- Develop the next generation of self­-service applications on multiple form factors for services in the mobile ecosystem.

- Develop rapid prototypes to prove out concepts and design directions.

- Develop modular and scalable code using the latest web app technologies that can be deployed on multiple form factors.

- Work closely with consumers and product management teams to translate requirements to actionable work items.

- Work with web designers and develop front­-end UI as well as Web back­-end (PHP, GAE, etc.) and integration bridges to services in the cloud.

- Drive quality of product and applications by leveraging automation techniques and tools that can assure code quality at the front end of the development cycle.

- Manage projects and coordinate dependencies as required.

- Collaborate with domain matter experts on all project phases.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience with developing applications using the Google Cloud Platform ­ GCP, Google App Engine ­ GAE and Cloud SQL or Amazon Web services is strongly desired.

- A minimum of 2 years working in a team developer environment.

- Bachelor’s degree ideally in computer science, Informational Sciences or pure sciences with demonstrated conceptual training in software engineering.

- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of customer plans, problems, processes, and requirements and meet project deadlines and milestones while producing high quality work.

- Must display a superior ability to communicate with co­-workers for innovation purposes; clients for quality control and customer satisfaction purposes.

- Self­-motivated and driven to play with new technologies and taking risks with bleeding edge technologies will be valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5 years of experience in coding/developing/debugging web based application software in the following technical environment: Linux, Java, Python, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL Server, MySQL.

- Understanding development of Chrome apps and plug­-ins a big plus.

- Master’s in Computer Science is a plus.
