Founded in 2005, Monashees+ is a venture capital firm that helps great entrepreneurs build great companies. It has invested early in category-defining leaders in Brazil, such as 99Taxis, ContaAzul, Eduk, Elo7, Enjoei, JusBrasil. Loggi, Neoway, Oppa, Peixe Urbano, Petlove, RunRun.it, and VivaReal.

We’re looking for an A-player to join us as a key member of our investment team. You’ll help Monashees+ partner with great tech entrepreneurs when their companies are still young and relatively small – but usually growing tremendously fast. You will actively participate in all stages of the VC investment cycle: studying relevant trends, researching promising market spaces and forming a point of view, identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, building meaningful relationships within the broad tech community, and working side-by-side with our partners and the outstanding entrepreneurs we back. You’ll spend a significant portion of your time performing deep business due diligence on companies we’re looking at, as well as sourcing and advocating for companies you’re excited about. Also, you’ll work with the founders and leadership teams of companies in our portfolio on strategic and tactical themes. This is a performance-based, partner-track position – you’ll start working with a partner and an analyst focused on consumer mobile/ marketplaces, and then rotate to other specialized investment teams.

You Are
Smart and personable: You have a data-oriented mindset, and are an independent critical-analytical thinker, who’s creative and intellectually curious. You’ll be constantly gathering data, synthetizing analysis, and drawing insights – and you must
communicate them effectively, in written and oral forms, internally and externally. You’ll also need to develop meaningful
relationships with entrepreneurs, and gradually build your influence through respect. You are “good vibes”, easy to work with, have a strong sense of empathy, and posses a rather unique combination of strong hard and soft skills.

Self-motivated and driven: You dislike narrowly defined job profiles and a repetitive routine, and are comfortable with incomplete information and ambiguity. You have the necessary initiative to thrive on a fast-paced environment, working with responsible autonomy – no formal training and limited supervision are pluses for you. You’re also an entrepreneur in spirit, always trying to fix or improve things. You want to be the best version of yourself everyday, and are determined to reach your goals through hard work and hustle, with no shortcuts.

Passionate and humble: We invest in authentic founders that are passionate about the problems they’re trying to solve – and our team is passionate about helping them succeed. You’re also a believer in the transformative power of technology, and value the privilege of working alongside bold entrepreneurs that want to change the world. A fast-learner, you welcome feedback, and strive to have an open and prepared mind, while fully recognizing that you’ll never know more about the businesses we invest in than the entrepreneurs themselves.

- Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics or Engineering, ideally from a top school.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience, with a history of excellence. Background in tech, management consulting, or finance (PE/ IB); relevant work in venture capital, high-growth startups, or leading Internet companies is definitely a plus.
- Familiarity with tech, startups, and VC – this job shouldn’t be the first time you interact with key people in these spaces.
- Fluent in English.
